Head lice alert
Head lice have been detected in the school.
It is extremely important for you to check your child’s head for head lice and/or eggs TODAY. Keep checking every 2 days until there are no head lice found for 10 consecutive days.
If you do find head lice and/or eggs, commence effective treatment immediately and be sure to complete the process of treatment. This will help prevent head lice from spreading. Teachers will reduce head-to-head contact activities while head lice are known to be around.
If for any reason you are having difficulties treating the head lice on your child effectively, please contact the school on 3435 1222.

Winter Solstice - Saturday 18 June
We have made great progress preparing for the Winter Solstice this coming Saturday (18 June 2022). We’re super excited about it. Fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us.
We still need more helpers (e.g. for serving soup or popcorn), so if you haven’t already, please sign-up to volunteer at this link.
The working bee will start at 2pm and the Winter Solstice will run from 4-7pm.
Entry to the Winter Solstice is free and we’ve lined up the School Choir and a great band, plus lots of yummy food.
The working bee to clean up the school garden will hopefully enable the school garden to reopen in term 3, once QBuild complete some repair work to the drainage system in the garden. If you want to join us, wear sensible clothes and bring a pair of gardening gloves if you have them. We’ll have tools available but most things we’re doing, like weeding, just involve a pair of hands.
Uniform shop convenor & opening hours
The P&C welcomes Ludivine Mahoney as our new Uniform Shop Convenor.
The uniform shop hours of opening for the remainder of term 2 will be Wednesdays 8-9 and Thursdays 3-4. Parents are welcome to come and have their children try on uniforms, as well as pick up uniforms, during those times.
Uniform prices are shown on the Qkr! App when purchasing but you can also view them online at the P&C website.
Orders on the Qkr! App can also be delivered to the classroom each week, so that parents do not need to visit the uniform shop during its opening hours.
Tuckshop - Friday 17 June
This Friday (17 June) is the first Sushi Friday and you can order sushi on Qkr! until 6pm today (Wednesday 15 June).
Next week (Friday 24 June) for the sports day on the last day of term we will have a sausage sizzle, which can also be ordered through Qkr! Meat, vegetarian, halal and GF options are available.
Next term we plan to continue with regular Sushi Fridays with volunteer parents distributing the sushi at least until we find a regular convenor.
Volunteers
The School now has a simple sign-on procedure for all volunteers for both P&C events and helping in classrooms. I did it recently and it takes only a few minutes.
Here is what it involves:
- sign in at the office as a “volunteer” on the school’s ipad (in case the school has an emergency and needs to know who is on site)
- the ipad will also request you show your Covid-19 digital certificate, so bring your phone
- there is a booklet in the office containing mandatory training “key messages” must be complete prior volunteering – it is valid for 12 months.
