Newsletter 12 27 April 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents/Carers
On Friday, we held our ANZAC assembly. It was great to see so many parents and families attend the afternoon. A special thank you to Ms Oziganow for conducting the choir and to Mr Cipollone for playing the trumpet. Thanks also to Ms Grayson for delivering the ANZAC requiem for the assembly. It was a special afternoon. Finally, thanks to all families for supplying the flowers to decorate the class wreaths- our staff did a wonderful job of putting them together.
It was also great to see so many families at Hanlon Park for the P&C gathering after school on Friday.
Please be reminded that schools are now operating under COVID normal conditions, as below:
Visitors on school sites
Visitors attending a school site to work or volunteer must be fully vaccinated.
Visitors are kindly reminded not to visit a school if you are sick.
Parents and carers
Parents and carers are welcome on school sites and are not required to be fully vaccinated. You may be asked to check in via the Check In Qld app .
Parents or carers who are working or volunteering at a school site must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. You must come to the administration office to sign in and sign out. Before you are able to volunteer you need to complete the mandatory training - Key Messages guide 2022. This needs to be completed annually.
Adults are kindly reminded to maintain physical distancing at all times, especially at drop-off and pick-up time, in the car park, outside classrooms and at the school gate.
NAPLAN online
Practice Tests were conducted for students in years 3 & 5 on Friday morning. Students will be more familiar operating in the online environment during the test period. You may like to access this link to find further sample testing materials and other useful information about the testing suite (a reminder that the year 3 writing will still be using paper and pencil).
A reminder that this Monday 2 May is the Labour Day public holiday.
Enjoy the long weekend

Hanlon Park Meet Up
Our Hanlon Park gathering on Friday afternoon was a great success. The kids had so much fun, and it was great to see parents making new connections and swapping phone numbers. Big thanks to parent Karmichael, who organised an epic game of footy. Thanks also to Mr Vaseo, who took time out of this busy afternoon to drop in and say hello.
There was multiple requests for a regular gathering, so we will restart the First Friday Club, which was cancelled due to Covid in 2020. See attached flyer.
