From the Principal
Hi everyone
Yesterday we officially welcomed our school leaders Jemima N and George M to their roles for 2022, at the badge presentation assembly.
Our House Captains- Isabel K, Bonnie A and John A also received their badges.
Congratulations to our seniors who received their senior badges too. We were joined by many of the year 6 parents, which was really nice to see.
Thanks to the parents who came along to the prep reading information session last week.
The P&C AGM will be followed by the first general meeting- next Wednesday 23 March- 6:15 pm in the library. 5:30 pm for meet and mingle.
We have a positive COVID 19 case in year 1/2K, see link below.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Crazy Hair Day. Darci has raised over $4800 which is in part, due to generosity from our school community.
Here’s a thanks from Darci, who is being shaved on Sunday morning! You are a champion Darci- we are very proud of you!
Thank you for your support – Crazy Hair Day
Hello everyone,
It was great to see so many people participate in Crazy Hair Day last Friday! There were some wonderful creations, colours and designs and I loved the energy and excitement that could be felt through the whole school.
Together we raised a total of $596.30! This is such an amazing effort, thank you to everyone for your generosity, especially when many parts of Brisbane are still recovering from the floods.
You can see the impact of your donations at Darci's World's Greatest Shave Fundraising Page and I will share a final update next week after my head is shaved.
Thank you for your donations, every dollar counts towards helping someone with blood cancer.
Thanks
Darci
Have a great week

Head Lice
Head lice has been detected in multiple classes throughout the school. Please check your child's head for head lice and/or eggs today. Please continue checking every 2 days until there are no head lice found for 10 consecutive days.
If you do find head lice and/or eggs, commence effective treatment immediately and be sure to complete the process of treatment. Teachers will reduce head-to-head contact activities while head lice are known to be around.
From Digital Technology
When your child comes home and tells you they were playing Minecraft at school, they probably were. We have Minecraft Education Edition on our lab computers and will be using it occasionally as a learning tool. The children may use the program to learn skills such as coding, collaboration, creative problem solving, communication and systems thinking. Minecraft Education is a secure platform where the children can work in a safe environment.

From Helping Hands
A huge hello from the Helping Hands Team,
This is the reminder to get your Vacation Care bookings in before the end of term as you cannot book once holidays start without contacting Sue to check if she has enough staff. We have an exciting program that includes lots of cooking and outdoor activities. We are going to the Daisy Hill Koala Sanctuary and have some exciting activities coming out to us such as Build a Bear and a Rock-Climbing Wall. Get in early and secure your spot.
During term time, the staff carpark gate opens at 3:45pm. We are often on the oval at this time as we have afternoon tea and therefore can't hear the buzzers. If you come before 3:45pm to pick your child/children up, you will have to ring the afterschool care phone to get us to open the gate or go to the open gate near the hall and come in that way. Please understand that we have large numbers of children to care for and need to be in ratio so it may take some time to get up to open the gates. By 4pm we are coming upstairs so there is someone in the room to open the gates as parents come in to pick up their children. Can I also remind you that children are moving around in that carpark as they are picked up, so please come in slowly.
Kindest Regards,
Sue Chiswell Coordinator
