Newsletter 24 November Week 8 Term 4
From the Principal
Hi everyone,
Week 8 is in full swing. Thanks to Laura Klein for spruiking the dance at assembly yesterday. The Retro Disco is this Friday. See further details in this newsletter.
Yesterday at assembly we announced our school leaders and sport captains for 2022. I’m very please to announce our school leaders are:
- Jemima N & George M
Our Sport Captains are: Isabel K - Aristotle, Bonnie A - Plato and John A - Socrates.
Congratulations to these students. I look forward to your leadership in 2022. There will be an official badge presentation early in term one.
Year 6 Graduation
Our Year 6 Graduation evening will be held in the hall on Monday 6 December 6:15 for 6:30 pm. Due to current Covid Restrictions for indoor events (1 person per 2m2 ) invitations will be limited to 3 guests per student.
Year 6 parents will receive an invitation to the Year 6 Graduation Night. Please look out for the paper invite which will be sent home today, please return the slip ASAP.
A pizza van will be available on the night- parents will receive a menu and return form tomorrow. This will need to be returned by COB Tuesday 30 November.
Final assembly
The final assembly will take place in the hall on Tuesday 7 December at 2:00pm - invitations to parents (only) of Citizenship and Academic Award Winners will be emailed in week 8.
Year 6 parents are invited to attend at 2:50pm on Tuesday for the ringing of the bell tradition. I ask year 6 parents to wait on the grassed area in front of the bell (maintaining social distancing).
There is an excursion for our year 5/6s to Raby Bay for a one day course with the Surf Life Saving Queensland- next Monday 29 November.
Ms Patton will send out further details of end of year mini concerts later this week. Due to capacity limits- smaller performances will be arranged for parents to attend.
On the final day of school (December 10)- rather than a shared lunch- there will be a sausage sizzle and ice-block day (first break). The school will supply this- but we will need some volunteers to assist on the day (with preference to year 6 parents). There will be further details sent next week. Children will need to bring a snack for the second break on the December 10.
This Friday is our prep orientation morning for our 2022 student intake. We look forward to meeting with students and parents this Friday morning.
Have a great week

2022 Instrumental Music Program

End of year Music Concerts
I am very excited to invite you to a Buranda Music concert to end another year at our great school. Due to the restriction of numbers allowed in the hall, instead of a whole school concert we will be having class concerts.
Invites will be emailed at the end of this week, and will include the day and time that your child will be performing. We look forward to seeing you there.
Kind regards
Cherie Patton

From the Uniform Shop
Volunteers wanted to help the Uniform Shop on Prep Orientation Day!
Calling for volunteers to help Jodie in the Uniform Shop at the Prep Orientation day this Friday 26 November from 8.45am to 10.15am.
The uniform shop can get a little busy on Orientation morning so help is always appreciated and it is pretty easy work too! We get to meet some of the new prep parents, help them download the Qkr! app and assist them with sizing and ordering of uniforms.
To put your hand up to help or to find out more, please email: uniforms@burandasspandc.org.au
Many thanks,
Jodie - Uniform Shop Convenor
