Newsletter 27 October Week 4 Term 4
From the Principal
Students are back in the pool and enjoying the recently refreshed facilities. Leak detection was carried out and repairs were made \on Monday- it looks to be working well. Please make sure that students have every item of clothing and swimming equipment labelled.
We are looking forward to the Day for Daniel activities tomorrow- please see full details further in this newsletter. Thanks again to Laura Klein for organising this.
I noticed that there is a walk in Covid Vaccination clinic at Metro South Health today. The pop up clinic will return in 3 weeks.
This Friday is the Brisbane Exhibition Public Holiday (in-lieu of August). There is no school this Friday.
This Friday is also World Teachers’ Day. As a community, it is a day to acknowledge the wonderful work of our teachers. This year our staff have provided wonderful learning opportunities and continuity for our students. The focus of WTD this year is #bright future. Our teachers are so cool they can wear sunglasses at night. A heartfelt thanks to our teachers from me- I hope you enjoy a wonderful day on Friday- doing as you please!
Have a great week

Lost property
Our lost property is overflowing at the moment. If your child has lost anything, please have them check the lost property bins outside the staff room. Any clothing that has not been collected by the end of the term will be donated to charity.
From the Garden
Our students planted about 30 more native plants in the new garden area on Friday. With the steamy weather kicking in and a little bit of good luck and good management, these new little ones should soon be providing a healthy, happy home for the birds and bees and more hope and happiness for our kids.
The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference will kick off this Sunday in Glasgow and run for two weeks. It is arguably the most important meeting of international political leaders in modern times. When I look into the eyes of the students I have the honour and pleasure to teach, I see hope, as they re-wild our world, or pick cherry tomatoes or pat our chickens.
If you are interested in how to make a difference closer to home, may I recommend to you ‘Big Deal’ on ABC iview.
