Newsletter 13 October Week 2 Term 4
From the Principal
Hi everyone
Our school pool is at the end of a significant overhaul. There have been delays to this work but we anticipate that lessons will commence with Mrs Wain and class teachers next week. The pool has had leaks rectified and has been fully re-painted. New handrails and ladders have been installed also. This work and the previous refurbishment of the pump room have the pool in the best shape it has been in for a very long time. Please make sure your children are ready for swimming next week.
Could I remind you that Martin Street is not to be used as a parking area, parents should NOT PARK in the drop-off zone in Martin Street and enter the school with students. If you must come into school- please park at Gladys Street (under the busway) and walk across the footbridge.
There is a P&C meeting (online) tonight at 6:15pm. Please follow the links found further in this newsletter.
Today was the first day of prep interviews with parents and students for 2022. Interviews will continue tomorrow. Please contact the school asap if you have not yet enrolled a prep student for 2022. We would also appreciate early notification of any school movement from Buranda in 2022 (other than year 6).
I include the COVID restrictions update below:
Wearing face masks
In line with the current Restrictions for Impacted Areas Direction, face masks must continue to be worn if you are in a SEQ Local Government Area (LGA) (an impacted area), have been in a SEQ LGA in the last 14 days or who are a household member of a person who has been in a SEQ LGA in the last 14 days.
You must:
- carry a mask with you at all times when you leave home
- wear a mask outdoors unless seated or able to maintain physical distancing from people who are not members of your household
- wear a mask indoors unless seated
- wear a mask on public transport and in ride shares and while waiting for transport in a public space
- wear a mask when entering and exiting a hospitality venue
- wear a mask when entering or exiting a sports stadium
Teachers and high school students can remove masks when seated. Teachers can remove masks indoors when able to maintain physical distancing from students. For example – teachers and staff who are teaching at the front of the classroom while maintaining physical distancing from students can remove their masks.
Have a great week
