Newsletter #16 - 2 October 2024
From the Principal
Dear Parents & Carers,
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone had a refreshing spring break and is excited for the term ahead. This term will move rapidly, so we’re getting straight into action!
Building Works Update
There has been significant progress in the early building works along Martin Street. The old Prep building is now completely gone, making way for the next phase of our redevelopment. With these changes, it’s important for all school users to be mindful of the updated access arrangements.
- The drop-and-go and pick-up zone on Martin Street is still in use, but the front gate access through the pathway there is now closed.
- During the school day, please use the Cowley Street or Gladys Street entrances to access the school.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate these changes to improve our school.
Swimming Lessons
Our pool is in tip-top shape, and swimming lessons commenced yesterday! Just a friendly reminder to label all your child’s items, including bags, togs, swimming caps, sun-shirts, towels and goggles. This helps ensure all items return home after a busy day in the water.
Enrolments and Movements for 2025
If you have any new enrolments or know of planned movements for 2025, please inform the office as soon as possible. Early planning helps us manage classes and resources effectively.
Prep 2025 Interviews
Reminder that we have Prep 2025 interviews next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you have a child starting prep next year and have not yet registered, please contact the office on 34351222.
Public holiday
Monday 7 October is a public holiday for the Kings birthday.
Term 4 – 11 Week Term
This is an 11-week term, and things will move quickly. I will provide further details regarding the arrangements for the final few weeks in our next newsletter.
P&C Meeting Postponed

After a successful trial period with our Preps using the oval and following consultation with staff and the P&C, there will be some changes to the play areas for all students. Book Week wrap-up
Thank you to all the staff and students who dressed up so fantastically for Book Week last term, and to the families who donated beautiful new books for It’s from Elsie. We collected more than 80 books, and these were passed on to Ms Warhurst in the school holidays to be distributed to neonatal units so the magic of reading can reach these most vulnerable little people.
Here are some snaps from the morning gathering before school!
